Welcome to the new ADSS Cymru website.

The Association of Directors of Social Services Cymru is a constituted group of statutory directors and senior social services managers who work in local government in Wales and who have come together to promote the social wellbeing of the vulnerable citizens in Wales irrespective of their circumstances.

The professional leadership organisation represents the interests of social services in Wales by seeking dialogue and working with key partners and the Welsh Assembly Government to challenge inequities of social condition.

We hope that this website will become a valuable resource to those in the social care professional sector as well as those in other sectors like education, health and housing, who might wish to find out more about social care issues in Wales. The site will also provide a resource for those in local government, the academia, the media.

ADSS Cymru is a Board member of the European Social Network. ESN brings together directors of social work and social care services working at the local level. Directors have the senior management role in local authorities for social services: they lead the strategic planning, design and delivery of social services and are accountable to elected local councillors. ESN's mission is to support our members to change the lives of the most vulnerable in our societies through the delivery of quality social services.
